Anyone have pics of the Vizualogic headrest in their X5??
Looking to get the A-1000 dual DVD system, but unsure of how closely the headrests match the OEM. They claim it does, but ahahahah I do not believe them.
Any pics????????????????????????? thanks :) |
I was looking in to getting them recently and talked to someone at visuallogic. Sounded like they use BMW leather. Unfortunately in my case, he is not able to get Truffle Brown. However, my dealer can get it off the production line and ship it to visuallogic to make the custom covers, for about $3-400. Apparently they just did that for an odd colored 7 series interior.
They definitely look like the best system out there, but I haven't decided if I want to put out a bit over $2k for the best yet. |
I also have truffle brown and have been trying to get headrest monitors, unfortunatley I also have comfort seats. For the leather, you may want to follow-up with www.leatherz.com. I talked to them about sourcing the leather and it was cheaper the getting it from BMW.

Thanks bscarlett, I'll look into that if I decide to go for it.

I just got an email from someone in NY who installs the visualogics...I asked him about that, and he said he only uses the EXISTING headrest in your car, so compatibility wont be an issue.... :dunno:

Yeah cutting into your existing headrests is a good option if you don't mind giving the monitors away when you sell your car. Buying a second set of headrests to do this mode is expensive. It's like $300 a piece.
Vizualogics are not your only option. You can go look around to see what monitors you like, buttons wise, brand wise, picture wise. Lots of options. |

I see the setup for about $1700 for the dual dvd player and headrest, which is great compared to the price OEM BMW wants for their setup. I have a black interior, so that should be easy. :) |

yeah the main reason I like the viz setup is the dvd in each headrest so I do not have to worry about putting a dvd player somewhere and such. |
I like the Vizualogic setup myself, and the only reason I'm leaning that way is due to the fact they have a built-in DVD player. If the BMW headrests had that option, I would even be willing to pay a little more to stay with OEM since I have absolutely no aftermarket mods in my truck.
However do you really need two dvd players?? How often are you going to watch 2 movies at the same time?? :dunno: |
