?Production Dates
The production days of my X5 is listed as 2004-02-09.
We are talking about a german car made in SC. Does it mean Feb 9 or Sept 2? Thanks, Steve |

Your build date is Feb 9, 2004. :D The 2004-02-09 build date is written as year/month/day...which can also be verified by the build date on the MFG sticker located on the driver's door jamb (it reveals the month/year the vehicle was built). The production/build date can also be verified if you use some of the online part databases like realoem.com or bmwfan.info ... if you use the last 7 digits of your VIN. BTW...if your build date was 9/2/2004...you'd have a 2005 model year X5 (if you're in the USA)...which would also be verified by the 10th digit of your X5's VIN. An official 2004 model year has a "4" as the 10th digit (regardless of build date), and a 2005 model year will have a "5" as the 10th digit. You can see that my 2006 X5 has a build date of 12/2005 (Dec/2005) on it's MFG label in pic below...and if I pull up my VIN the production date is listed as 2005/12/07...and the 10th digit of my VIN is a "6": |
