Extra connectors in back.. Bluetooth?

Good morning,

While inspecting the equipment in my rear driver's side panel of my 2001 X5, I came across a number of connectors that I cannot recognize.

First of all is the DB25 connector on the right. I've been told this is related to Bluetooth, but my vehicle doesn't have Bluetooth, that I know of?

Secondly, there are these two connectors:

The connector on the left has six female connectors with the middle one not being used (no wire attached to it) The connector on the right appears to have some type of "loopback" connector on it.

And finally, there is this 12 pin connector that was hiding behind the amp:

Thank you for help in identifying these connectors!

The one on the right is the voice recognition module connector

The one with 6 female connectors may be for the back seat adjustment.
It looks like you also have a DSP audio/amp.

I don't believe there was a power back seat option on the 2001

In the picture below, the DB25 connector on the right is the connector for hooking up a BMW telephone system. It was designed for the CPT8000 phone system (which has been manufacture discontinued), but can be used to connect up the newer BMW Bluetooth module with the retrofit kit available from http://advancedautovations.com. See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=26 for an example of this retrofit.

On the picture below, I couldn't tell you what the connector on the left is for. That same one is in mine and is not connected to anything. Ignore it. The connector on the right is for installing the Voice Recognition Module. See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=10 for information on that module. Note that if you decide to install the Bluetooth kit then you won't need to purchase the VR module, since it has built-in on the Bluetooth module. So be sure to keep that end plug with the looping wires if you take it off to install a VR module, as you'll need to put it back on when you install the BT module.

And finally, the 12 pin connector shown below is also there and unterminated on my X5. Ignore it.

Maybe the connection was there for the back seat adjustment but BMW decided not to make that option available until 02?

That's exactly what that connector is for.
