inner halfshaft wont come off
Trying to replace my front drivers side axle shaft tonight before I leave for the weekend and it was going ok. However I can't get the inner piece out of the diff. Ive pulled pried and what have you for some time. I figuered id use the new outer with old inside but the aee different. HELP?
thanks. Jon |
Does it have a roll pin holding the inner shaft in place?
|
It has a clip inside the diff near the end of the splines
|
Quick look on REalOEM shows the inner shaft has a lock ring.
|
I see they call it that . All I hesr is just pull it will come but it isnt.

If its got a locking ring, it will usually require a lever on the back of the inner shaft base. They usually require some "convincing" to extract. Throw in how many years worth of corrosion on the splines... I've never had an old one just "pop out".

Thank you. Ive decided to call it quits for the night ill try more tomorrow.
