Hi guys, I am trying to find this small rubber ball bushing that you see to the left of the trunk lid closing mechanism. I've been searching REALOEM with no luck. I want to replace the missing one on the right.

You need to replace the rubber over the latch release too. That will let water into the tailgate.

You mean the part where you press with your fingers to open the trunk lid? If so, yes, I know it's on my master list of parts to replace. Unfortunately, you can't just get a new rubber part, you have to buy the whole thing.

Take a look at #38 in the diagram. Remember, the encircled numbers are hardware...and most times (as in this case) there's a hardware index within the illustration that helps indicate the hardware piece you're looking for.

If you click on the link to the diagram below...you can get the BMW 11 digit part nbr for that bumper stop...then type BMW xx xx x xxx xxx" into a google search box to get an idea of online vendors that sell it...plus get an idea of how much it costs. You can also call your local BMW dealership's parts dept and give them the part nbr and see how much they charge, too:

20 bucks for that wow.

Thank you, it's not part 38, if you look at ECS tuning, its a flat bump stop. Plus, the parts database says that it is only QTY 1. It should be QTY 2.

Did you take the one off to see if it has either the BMW 7 digit part nbr or 11 digit part nbr?

BTW...item #36 is flat...and one of the bump stops along the top of the tail gate.

But item #38 (BMW part # 51247141879) is roundish:
