Seam sealer failure on rear door
Anyone have this problem before? Seam sealer has completely failed on my rear door.
I am thinking light sandblast job (maybe) and a little phosphoric acid solution to eat the rest.... http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/20/9e6y5e7y.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/20/9aga8u5y.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Mine is slowly starting to show that at 11 years old, not as bad as yours though. A body shop would be a good place to show

Just wondering if this was a common problem or not. It seems to be the only door this is happening to. Must be bad luck / mis-applied from the factory in this one spot.
I've done a bit of body and paint work over the years including a body-off resto/paint on my '59 beetle. I think I can fix it and make it look nice enough. It's in an obscure enough spot. It just really caught me off guard - I am like WTF?!? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
nice to be living in place where cars don't corrode. :)

Mine is doing that right rear door :). I'm going to closely inspect all and have a body shop fix before the salt and snow. Welcome to the club. My E36 328 did this along the hood edges.
