I did manage to get a Signal Refresh sent to my SkyFi2 Sat Radio, and the MID has been showing AUX since that...(so far).
I also read, according to other Bummer models and their owners experience, that if the radio does not see a certain resistance value, on the AUX inputs, it doesn't show it at all... So if my Sat Radio IS acting up and not putting out proper signal to radio, that's why it won't register, perhaps, on the MID. I could just unplug the 3.5mm jack from Sat Radio and see...

So, since buying a new Sat Radio, the problem of the AUX option disappearing still occurs.
time to add a 300k OHM resistor in place between L & R audio channels on the cable
