168's 10.5 up front.
Hey guys are any of you running a set of 168 rears in the front. There is a set on CL dirt cheap out my way. I'm contemplating on picking the set up and trying it out.
|
IIRC, it's not been done before. Partly because a set is rather expensive if you just want the rear, and nobody is splitting a set. If it's dirt cheap there, then you can do it and show us.
A member (DTMDan?) has done this but with style87 briefly. The post might be in the "What did you do to your X5?" thread. Personally, I prefer the staggered set up. |
I was thinking of doing the same thing with the 19" staggered setup. I do believe it will work with a 15-20mm spacer setup on the fronts.

Yea i tried searching the forum to no success. I might take one of my rears tonight and put it up front and see how it looks and fits. I like the staggered set up also. I'd like to see if it would give the front end a little more aggressive stance.

J.Belknapp (the 4.6iS supercharged MASSAH of the forum) runs a square 10.5" Style 87 (offset 30) all around without issues.
I highly recommend front and rear flares if doing this, but it is definitely fine to run 315's all around, although you may need a spacer on the front. |

I would also like to see how a 10.5" would sit in the front..I'm too lazy to switch out my rears
Please post pics if you get the wheels! |

They are oem and asking 450 should be able to knock them down sounds like they just wanna get rid of them.

No spacers needed on the front..
I test fitted a 315 up front, and it basically looks like what my front does now with a 25mm spacer and the 9.5 wheel (except id like a square setup for the width, and concave look) http://i.imgur.com/UZVwtKV.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fONiyZn.jpg Dont mind that its so low in the 2nd pic, I was changing settings on my air - ride and decided to test fit in the middle of it. Even at the height of the 1st pic, you wont have issues with rubbing, if there are its just very slight rub on the inner fender plastic at full lock. I actually get some now with my 25mm spacers and the drop i run, but its basically if you look deeper into the fender, like you rubbed some sand paper on it. Not like its gouging huge holes lol. |
