need help with po code
 
hello to all
my 02 x5 3.0i is throwing a p2096 Post Cat Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1.
i use 2 cans of carb cleaner testing for vacumm leaks found none.if it picks up the signal from the o2 can the o2 be going bad.???

First thing I would do is to clear the code and see if it comes back.

yes i clear the code then after 30 miles it came back on again
post cat means the o2 at after the cat the one underneath the car.???

Yes! The angle on these 2 sensors is a PITA.

thanks for the replies will do more testing been the o2 on bank 1 sensor 2 look original suv has 127,miles actually been the 2 lower are the same i'm going to swapt them to see if it moves to bank 2.??

It is suggested to replace all O2 sensors at 100k. Your due:)

the funny thing is yesterday i replace the o2 sensor bank 2 sensor 2 because of code po161 new one fix that. then i get this new one hopefully this weekend i'll change the other one

How about the pre-cat O2 sensors? They need to be replaced too, as part of 100k miles maintenance.

ok i'm running of thing to look for for this dam p2096. quick recap.1 1/2 month ago did a head gasket job had a crack between intake valve. so all new gaskets and seal were replace and a new CCV+new hoses new throttle body elbow also the 2 lower downstream o2 sensors.today did a smoke test no leaks found. also fuel filter was change new plugs new coils been i had engine 1/2 apart why not do the pre maintenance at the same time.been previous owner neglected all that. when i clear the code it doesn't pop up until i have driven over 40 mile distance.any body else that had this issue i don't see fix mention any help would be more than appreciated thanks
