I'm gonna be the one to start but my gosh, at 27 I feel prouder and prouder to be an American in this EXCEPTIONAL country every day.

Happy 4th of July everyone, thank God for this country and thank God for our forefathers and revolutionary thinking and ideals that got us to independence and led us on the path we continue to this day as a country of the people and by the people.

From Thomas Paine's Common Sense to the greatest of our leaders George Washington and everyone in between I am thankful. All politics aside I pray for that kind of wisdom and leadership to return to this country that we had 238 years ago.

God Bless you all, my fellow Americans and a Happy Independence Day. (Yes I know the Declaration of Independence wasn't even signed on the 4th of July but damn it we will celebrate)

...and stay safe to those out on the East Coast!

The Declaration of Independence, 1776

By issuing the Declaration of Independence, adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, the 13 American colonies severed their political connections to Great Britain. The Declaration summarized the colonists’ motivations for seeking their independence. By declaring themselves an independent nation, the American colonists were able to conclude an official alliance with the government of France and obtain French assistance in the war against Great Britain.
