Greasy cv boot less than 2 yrs after last replaced?!

I got both cv boots replaced less than 2 yrs ago but one of them is greasy now. The car is only driven on urban road, no gravel road at all, no sharp turn
, and never turn steering wheel when the car is stand still.
How could it broke prematurely? Could it be improper installation? Could it be cheap part?

If they are genuine BMW parts, at least in the States here, BMW has a two year unlimited mileage on the parts.

Part doesn't cost much, the real pain is labour

Most CV Boots break because they are the cheap Chinese stuff.

The BMW CV Boot is made by GKN-Lobro and it is very beefy. The BMW boot should last some 90K-100K.

lol -- explain why the stock boots on mine were dead by 50k (failed one month apart) if the BMW boot is such high quality.

Adm you must have gotten a good batch. Mine were gone at 35k.

One of the problems that I see with the front CV boots failing on X5 is that the wheels turn at a relatively big angle, compared to any other SUV or FWD car.So the way the car is driven really matters for the longevity of the boots.

1+,

Boots break because of hundreds/thousands of R/L turns.
If you drive primarily on the highway, it easily lasts some 90K-100K.
