Seat color question
Hello I have a 2006 3.0 that needs some seat attention. I saw on the bay a full cushion however I think it's the leatherette type not real leather. part #
52109133357 I think I have real leather comfort seats, do you think I would notice the color difference having a fake leather bottom and real leather back? |
yes. get real leather. the other stuff also just falls apart.

Not so much color difference, but the grain pattern will be completely different. The heated seat that I install was black, but had a dark grey trim, that my leatherette seats didn't have, so if your seats are two tone, you will not be able to match it. Why are you changing the bottom? |
Why not have mobile automotive leather restoration service fix and re-dye your leather seats? I was surprised how well they can match color and make the seats almost new again. If you have cracks, they will sand or fill the cracks then re-dye. I had this service done on my E34 and the seat looked almost factory new and only cost me $120.

I've contemplate redying the front seats for over 4-5 years now. The thing that holds be back is that the *stitching* will get dyed as well. In my case, it's tan seats with chocolate stitching.
One more thing. In order for them to do a proper dye job, they WILL need to sand the seats a bit...it does change the grain structure . It's a Bummer for us OCD types |

my seat cushion is totally smoushed. the leather is worn but not cracking. The cost of a new seat foam is over 500 and the bottom is about have that price. So figured I'd just swap them out.
