Hello

Hello everyone. New to the forum but have been here a lot since picking up our 2002 x5is w/ 106k miles. Ive only had one other BMW, a 98 m3 with some suspension mods. The x5 has replaced our 04 cayenne TT that was totalled...the x5 is a much better driving car...not as plush or powerful, but still a better handling and much more mod friendly car (not to mention no more payments). So far since buying it ive replaced the front and rear lights, windshield, all control arms, added home built big brake kit, new wheels/tires, and a couple other small things. Since the rear air suspension is "not active" i will be building a set of coilovers for the rear and looking for bigger sway bars. I need to get the gauge display pixel thing fixed and my wife hates the current stereo so it will be going soon. also i deleted the big center muffler and just have an AC Snitzer rear mufflers....sounds pretty good. I will also swapping the mechanical fan for an electric. Anyway, glad to be here.

Congratulations and welcome! Looks great!

I went with Eibach sway bars, made a huge difference. I kept the rear air and went with H&R lowering kit not adjustable like coilovers but might want to look into that. I set the wheels out with 17 MM spacers which improved handling and the wheelwells look fuller. Many years ago I went with BSW speakers, amp and sub. I chose a media-bridge to get USB, Bluetooth, Sat, and Aux. The aftermarket NAV options, like Dynavin, out there now are a more expensive but have more features and use current technology. . Changing out the inside lights to LEDS is an easy and inexpensive upgrade. Many have used a particular vendor that fixes the pixel issue. I think it is under $100, someone will need to chime in on that, don't know the name. There is an electric fan thread that is very current that may be helpful. You can see some of what I have done in my album.
