Search feature question
When I put a short phrase (in my case, "glove box light") in quotes in the Advanced Search feature, select "X5 (E53) Forum", it doesn't narrow the search down to the whole phrase. Instead, any thread that contains any of the three words ("glove", "box", or "light") comes up, which is totally useless, obviously. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to search for a whole phrase" I tried using single quotes, and that didn't work either. Thanks.

Search feature question
I have found that I get better results searching by using Google search and appending "site:xoutpost.com" to my search phrase. That restricts your results to our favorite site and takes advantage of Google's better search engine.

Thanks - I'll try this. The search feature for the site as it sits seems to be limited to single-word searches, which is really pretty useless.

Yes,try google with xoutpost attached to whatever you're looking for; the search function on this forum sucks .

I just tried it, with great results! Thanks. Yes, the search feature for this site sucks, but I've found the advice here to be very good, so it's definitely my go-to site for all things X5.

Glad to be able to help a fellow E53 fan!

It's the only way I search here - appending the site:xoutpost.com method in google :)
