The Le Mans flares are about $20. The 4.6/4.8 flares are about $180. They are different but not enough to warrant such a spread in price

Notice the difference in this picture..first SAV is a 3.0 with lemans flares curved at the bottom and the one in front is a 4.8is. |
Yup. Prices are adjusted to supply and demand... I purchased genuine BMW Type 42 18" Comp II RS (genuine BBS) for my E34 from the dealer because BMW had overstock on these. Original cost was $600 for the fronts and $700 for the rears but the price dropped to $200 for the fronts and $250 for the rears because the supply was high and demand was low. I snagged them up quickly at that price. :) I tried to purchase E46 M3 CSL front wheels to upgrade from standard Comp wheel (difference between the front wheel is only 8" to 8.5" wide) but the cost difference is more than double because of low supply on CSL. :(

I understand demand is low on the Lemans flares, but as I mentioned, with the 4.6/4.8 rear the flow of the rear bumper lines is off when the Lemans flares are on there (in my opinion),
Although the Lemans flares can be used on vehicles equipped with 4.6/4.8 rear diffuser in my opinion they are suited and look better on a vehicle that has no additional add-ons on the rear, as they wrap under the bumper slightly. The 4.6/4.8 rear flares are much "blockier" at the bottom and match the beefiness of the rear diffuser. |
yeap... we already covered these flares - http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...el-flares.html
the pic from four.8is with two blue E53s is a very nice illustration to the point... |
