Bartlett—not to far from you actually! Though admittedly I'm at my office downtown and seeing clients more often than I'm at home, haha.

As far as I am aware, it is OE, though I am far from an expert on these - this is the first and only X5 I've driven. I will try to get some photos for you, yes. Have had quite a bit of interest in seeing that, so perhaps I'll just start an actual thread when I get photos taken.

It's being clay barred and waxed next weekend, so I'll get out the real camera at that point and take/post some good pics. ;)

They did have it as an option so its entirely possible but have never seen it installed. I have the stainless and have seen the red but not the blue.

In for the pics.

Thanks!

Did you get it from Motor Werks of Barrington?

Welcome & congrats...but depending on what type of tires you have mounted...getting through a Chicago winter...especially if its going to be like the last one...may require different or dedicated winter "shoes" (tires).

Don't let xDrive/AWD fool you into thinking that tires made for summer will get you through winter.

Thanks! No worries—I'm a proponent of putting dedicated winter tires and wheels on any car that has to deal with Chicago's brutality, haha. Currently shopping for a good set for the X5 now actually.

I did! Aiming to try out Wash Werks soon enough...hoping they do a good enough job to warrant going there when it's 5 below outside haha.
