p0369 code question
code came on yesterday sitting in traffic. car still drove normal though.
I thought if it was the sensor, it would run worse. could it be the other stuff as mentioned on engine-codes.com (dead/weak battery, bad starter?). also, this is the one on the exhaust side right? is it attached to the vanos unit or the cylinder head? I have a spare vanos unit I was going to rebuild that has all the attached sensors. was just going to use the one on it if thats what that one sensor is. |
If you want to test the sensor before shelling out the bucks, there's a video on Youtube describing how to test the sensor.

P0369 IS A CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. this came up on my 3.0i too when I first bought it and the engine was running rough ,so so I checked the oil and it was realy thick and black. someone before me realy neglected the oil on this beast. long story short replaced the oil with 5 w40 full synthetic and ever since then no more code and its been over a year. and yes it has had another oil change since then. I just thought I would throw that out there.

Yeah thats not the issue. I change the oil religiously and had the valve cover off 2k miles ago. its clean inside.
I need this diagnostic video before I spend $100+ on a sensor I dont need |
