HELP WITH BACKUP HID KIT
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys and Gals, I was just wondering if anyone installed HID kit into an E53.
I just installed and tested the HID kit. The HID lights up, but as soon as the computer read the back up light out, The HID light shuts off. It may need an relay or diode. If anyone has an idea. Please let me know - Thanks |
You need canbus modules if you are using them on fog lights or low beams.
|
Do you mean backup as in reverse lights?
|
If you're putting HID in reverse lights then you are an idiot. They aren't even on long enough to fully warm up.
I say that with the utmost respect. You can get self regulated high power LED's and at least those will have the brightness you want. |
Why would you want to install HID into reverse light?
Like Ricky said, just get canbus LED bulbs and should be bright enough. |
Guys, I had the led bulbs in there before the HID kit. The HID kit is roughly 10x as bright as the led bulbs. Also the HID kit is instant on and full brightness. I need them because I have a narrow driveway and its dark in there, so its safer to backup with the HID kit. Plus I am a parts manager for a dealership, I got the set as an tester. P.S. I got an tech from our service dept. to look into it, He will pickup full items from Radio Shack and make it work. Hopefully !!!

Good luck man. I have 15% tinted windows and my ultra-bright Cree LED bulbs illuminate just fine.
Have you ever thought of backing in your garage/driveway so that when you pull out its easier? |
There's no such thing as an hid being instant brightness they need time to warm up, I agree with the above led kit I believe that you just had normal led bulbs, the kit above is kind of like an hid kit but there is no warm up time it be better for your application
