I, for one, am quite happy with setting the oldest group at 46+. It at least lets me think I'm closer in age to Jennifer Aniston .... ;)

Joshdub 11-14-2014 10:44 PM

I guess I am not very surprised by the lack of 18-25. For those of you in that group, what made you buy one?

Quicksilver 11-14-2014 11:18 PM

In my 73rd year and proud of it but Geezer I am not…...:D

I just really wanted an SUV..:dunno: :)
and if i was going to put money into something, I might as well just put into something i love. Didn't want just a beater car..

pnoyako85 11-15-2014 01:59 PM

28 yrs old here.....
had a few Bmers already

Helihover 11-16-2014 10:50 AM

Well that was fun. For the record I'm 37:)

This kind of poll would be cool to compare against other polls of similar, just different years. If this poll was taken in another 3 years and so on. Would be cool if we were able to look back 3, 6, 9, ect. years to see the ages change somewhat. Thanks for your participation and feel free to continue.

garrett.fell 11-16-2014 02:44 PM

39 (and holding) here....

30 years old here. I'm not new to working on BMWs, but this is my first one. Purchased from my Uncle due to needing extensive repairs (well extensive if you're paying a shop for labor lol).

pezho405 11-18-2014 09:06 PM

had my X5 since i was 17 :) im soon turning 21. With a couple other cars in between. Definetley not ever going to sell the X5.

4.8isX5 11-19-2014 10:46 AM

Its under the radar car for cops (not your typical 20 yr old car) 18 when i got it. But still a fast beast.

The look, full air ride, and how i have it setup now its very unique, versus buying a subaru sti like everyone else and buzzing around with too much of a drop to clear speedbumps.

Luxury, power, and the rarity of them on the road, are also my reasons lol.

For you younger guys (under 20yrs), was your X a gift? My first car at the age of 16 was a 1991 Ford Escort GT lol, couldn't even think of affording a BMW then! hahaha.

I probably only plan on keeping my X til spring time to be honest lol, drivetrain and dme issues scare me so I don't want to risk it.

the X was first car I had, i split the cost with the rents 45/55%. Made a deal that I pay gas, maintenance, platenumber, license plate sticker, mods, etc, but rents got the insurance.
Ever since I got the SAV, as dom toretto would say; 'Buster became a gearhead'. Been fascinated and very interested with all x5 e53s.
Hope to keep it for a long time:popcorn:Love the X5

X5 was the only car of mine not bought with my own money.

13,050$ for the x5 with 145k miles back in 2010/11 i forgot exactly

To be honest i really wanted an e36. foundone i fell in love with a 328, black on black manual.. like 6k or something like that.

4.8isX5 11-21-2014 07:47 AM

I bought mine for my own cash as well. Pay for all my maintainence parts, mods, pay the difference on insurance to my father, gas etc.
