Battery exchange caused electrical problems
Hi everyone,
I am confused. I had some battery problems. The battery was dead every morning and every time I parked the car for more than 30 min. So I knew the battery was shut and I had to replace it. I went to a local shop and they replaced the battery. They used a memory battery device, not sure what it is called. So when that unit is plugged everything electrical works. Central power lock, windows, remote key fob etc. Once the mechanic pulls out the memory device, alarm turns on and none of the electrical things in the car work. Please help. |
Your problem may be the use of the memory battery device. I've changed batteries twice.
Take the old one out put the new one in. Reset the clock and a few other things and bingo good to go. |
Hi there,I have only changed battery once and followed the guidelines on the forum, the majority of posters say no need to use any sort of device to maintain current and keep radio settings etc....I jusy unplugged the battery and reconncected and lost my radio settings and had the airbag warning come on dash, but turning the steering wheel full lock left and right resolved this issue.....
get the garage who swapped out battery to resolve issue, I agree must have something to do with device they used to keep power to system |
