New Here....06 4.8is
 

Hey everyone, got this in August, been lurking for awhile, great site and so much valuable info and DIY.

Great X so far, not new to BMW's, have an E39 528i currently, and an E46 M3 that I sold recently.

I had been interested in an E53 for awhile, and test drove many, but when I saw this 4.8 beast, I had to have it. 120K, but has had all recent preventative maintenance performed, and really taken care of by one previous owner. Since I bought it, I've had all fluids replaced in front and rear difs and transfer case. New Continental DWS on all 4 corners. Not my daily driver so haven't put a lot of miles on it, just over 1,000 since August.

Side mirrors won't stay folded, doing some searches on this, as well as vacuum booster leaking a little oil, other than that this thing is solid.

I never get tired looking at pics of these machines. They still hold their own looks-wise on the road today. Nice find.

Ideally, I would have really liked to find an Imola or Lemans blue 4.8is, but they are very hard to find on the West Coast and when they do generally command a higher price. I've never been a big fan of the Titanium Silver, but the color has kind of grown on me.

The mirrors may be unfolding on you because they sense some sort of resistance. Just a thought.
