BOV sound

Nice day today in Houston and I was driving with the windows down. Went to accelerate and I can hear the sound of the X bouncing back off the sidewall. Couldn't help but to notice every time it shifted, I hear this BOV sound, like a swooshing sound. What is causing this? Thanks!

Do you have a turbo, bro?

Can't help you then😊......I have had a few Skylines, Mazda Speed 3 and even a Nissan Stagea 260RS (which I doubt most know what that is but they are rad).

Bought an X5 as a 'grown up car' and even though my x5 is turbo diesel, I still miss that sound when you snap the throttle shut on boost (diesel doesn't have a throttle body).

But none of that helps you right!

Do you have an aftermarket intake?

the engine will retard timing and cut fueling when you upshift for a better smoother shift, sort of sounds like the engine is farting

I try telling my wife that, but I am soon betrayed by the need to open a window. :(

There is a distinct difference in my farting sound and BOV sound and that doesn't include the smell.

I also noticed a slight "hesitation" between the shifts hence the BOV sound.

Lock the windows and blast the heat. Make a game out of it. :D

Wonder if your not hearing your torque converter squeal? Mine does between shifts under heavy acceleration...
