Cryptic Germans or I'm stupid
Ok, how do you get the headlight washers to work. Yes, I'm a dumbass or the owners manual is weird. 2001 e53

lights have to be on. then hit the wash.
|
Lights on, and I believe it is every fifth cycle of the special wash function.
|
I thought it was lights on, temp below a certain level and just hitting the squirt. It'll do it every 5 cycles or so. Mine will do it on the first squirt even sitting in the driveway just pulling on the wash stalk.

Thanks all, maybe mines busted

Cryptic Germans or I'm stupid?
It's a German thing, the headlight washers on my PORSCHE requires the headlights to be on before they will get sprits. |
The facelift owners manual mentions nothing of a specific ambient temperature required...probably because one could be offroad or other driving scenario during the spring/summer/fall and require headlamp cleaning.
(see #6 for headlamp cleaning instructions...as well as #5 for interval info & lights on requirement) http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/q...structions.jpg |
Why doesn't someone with a pre-face lift and face lift post a video of the headlight washers in action and show us how you made them spray. I would do it but my headlight washer system has been inoperative for about 6 years now...lol!
|
My post-facelift always sprays when I hit the "special wash program" button as Qsilver7's post mentions. Basically, it's like a super windshield wash where the washers squirt longer. And I can see the spray coming up over the hood from the headlight washers.
