Please read: Remote GT1/INPA service
Hey guys,
I have a new idea that i may put into action, i would like to gain some feedback here from the members. As most of us know, more then a few times on these cars even after performing a diy repair yourself you do need access to gt1/inpa or perhaps to diagnose something. This is more of an offering for the members who have trouble ever getting this to work, due to lack of experience or perhaps the proper operating system/pc specs. Id like to offer a remote gt1/inpa service, there will be some minimum requirements for example a windows laptop, with the ability to be connected to the internet. I would be offering this service for a fee, and details can be gone over once i gauge interest but i feel a good amount of people without the means to diy this kind of tech stuff may be very interested. Thoughts/comments etc Thanks. |
I would be interested in looking into it

Coding guys do remote coding so good idea, but not sure how much interest there would be based on level of diagnostic need (i.e. if its dire straits sometimes people have to go to the indy and not be waiting for cable to arrive in mail). You'd just have to mail your inpa cable to them each time. Toss it in a flat rate box and do it remotely, makes sense.
You'd probably make more money offering coding services as well as diagnostics if you're offering remote services. |
Just to be the Devil Advocate (DA) how many people will allow a stranger to log onto their computer these days? With the chance of either stealing personal info off a computer or infecting the computer with a virus?

I would love for someone to help me out with using the software. I bought the cable from ebay but it doesnt look like I have an old enough laptop to be able to use it. Right now it looks like I will just try and pick up an old laptop off ebay but it would be so much nicer if there was somebody local that could at least show me how it all works first...

Upallnight
Completely valid point, with the software it would be using theres two ways, im not sure which one would be ideal since id need to first test it myself. Option A is even if im connected to the computer you would be able to see everything being done and close the connection at any time, after thats disconnected i have no way of getting back on without you providing the new generated password on your end of the system. Option B is you would just connect up the computer almost how you would log onto a website and your system is just middlemanning the connection. |
Running a cloud type business ;) Software as Service
like ISTA/p and ISTA/d is available for 30 bucks a day (I think), owner must have the cable(s). Quote:
