Temp gauge doesn't go above 25%
 

I noticed recently my temp gauge on 02 X5 3.0 is not going above the 25% mark. I used to get to the middle of the gauge...is it possible the thermostat is stuck on open? Since it's very cold here in the Midwest.

If the thermostat is stuck open, a scan of the car with BMW software will tell you that the thermostat is opened.

You are correct, the t-stat is stuck open and the engine is running cold.

Just check the actual coolant temp through OBC hidden menu and know for sure.
