INPA - Ride Height Question (4.8is)
2 Attachment(s)
Rebuilt my compressor last weekend and now I've got wacked out ride heights in INPA on front right corner and rear left. Can anyone shed any light onto what may have happened here?
I had lowered the X 10mm at each corner months ago and everything has been perfect since then, until that is the compressor started throwing the codes indicating that it was time for a rebuild. Any thoughts on what caused this or how to resolve it? |
Your deviation per axle is too high I would run DIS and set zero point function to get them within spec. INPA doesn't work well for me with configuring ride height
|
Thanks, I was digging around DIS for a good half hour but couldn't find a way to set zero point. I'll have to do some searching for a DIY.

In inpa the numbers always look wacky, im not sure why that is...
Do it the gt1 way, works better. |
Go into control module functions of EHCII module you'll see the function "set zero point default ride height" then you can manually raise/lower per axle or per wheel and then set when you have it

Any tips for setting the zero point? I believe spec is 12.5 mm in deviation from corner to corner? Thanks much! |
It's worth noting, and I should have said this in my first post, that the corners all sit relatively level currently even though INPA shows them totally out of whack. It's perfectly drivable, just can't clear the damn SLS light or the flat tire indicator...

Suspension light should be easily cleared thru inpa unless theres actually a cause for this and why it wont go away (like a bad sensor). Im forgetting the menu options in inpa but once you open up the dual axle air menu, f-something key (not sure abt number) read the codes, f2 usually to clear when your in this menu.
Tire light, start car dont put in gear or anything, hold tpms button down on lower console till light goes off. |
Yeah it's a bummer. Tried clearing the codes with bmw scan, inpa, gt1. Nothing will get rid of them. "height sensor front right and rear left" but everything appears fine and they were working without issue last week prior to the compressor rebuild. Which is why I'm now wondering if it's due to the inpa readings being so out of whack and if the EHC just needs a recalibration of some sort...
Tmps won't reset either, tried for a good week now. Driving me crazy. Broken interior door handle, window regulator, battery, compressor rebuild, tmps light and sls light all in the last couple weeks. Good times.. |
You can't reset the EHCII module faults with DIS?
If you do a full scan on DIS, then go into the EHCII module and go to control module functions you'll see the zero point function. I'd take a screen grab but its like 0 degrees out and probably 30 in my garage if i'm lucky. |
