Rep[air service for Navigation DVD in Rear
1I have a 2003 X5 equipped with Navigation. The DVD in the rear needs repair. I found a service on EBAY in Colorado for $159. Has anyone used them? Mine has the "No DVD" and "waiting" messages.
I thought that I would try to repair it myself, but got "weak-kneed". I am on Whidbey Island, near Seattle. |
Do you have the original nav disc in the system or a copy?
Sometimes discs go bad (copies) and you need to burn a new one. The description of your failure matches what happened to me when I had a bad disc. Check the navigation subforum as there are lots of smarter folks than me on what to do. FWIW, I did the laser swap out and it is pretty easy. I don't know if you can get the part for less than the repair service that you stated above though... |
Thanks for your response. I will visit that subforum. I do have the original DVD. By the way, do you have a subwoofer connected to your premium hi-fi system?
