Does anyone have a peak srs code scanner for a 2001 e53 they want to sell for cheap?

Its Peake, and they work well. What you need depends on whether the OBDII port is under the dash [as in my 2006] or in the engine compartment [as in my 1997 E36]. I bought an adapter for the Peake I bought in 2001 or so for my E36. You might check ebay but to my mind its worth the $100+ investment through Pelican, Turner Motorsport or similar on-line vendors.

Why do you want a Peake? That's like asking for an abacus instead of a scientific calculator.

Go online and search for an ELM327 module. This will plug into your OBD II data port and it talks to your phone or tablet.

Then you go to the app store that is relevant for your device and download an app that will display the data that the module is feeding it. There are free apps, and fee-apps. You can play with the free app, but you will want to buy the fee app.

With the module and the app, your checkbook will be drained less than $40, and probably less than $30.

The beauty is that when you are not using it on your car, you can use it on somebody else's car -- a capability that the Peake does not enjoy at 5 times the cost.

My bad, I missed the part about SRS.

I'm just a simple caveman, whose Peake dates back to circa 2001 or -02, and works for me. A cable that works with USB and appropriate software is certainly more modern and stylish :)
