flush rear differential oil
 

I just had a look at the rear differential from the back end of the car and don't see where the fill and drain plugs.

which also doesn't specify the plugs.
Anyone knows where it is? Pictures would be appreciated.

There's only a fill plug. It's in plan view once you look at the diff.

There's only a fill plug. I just posted a DIY a few weeks ago for this. VERY easy.

Yes, but I replaced the stock plug with a magnetic plug. It will have a 22mm allen indent in it.

When you tighten up the plugs, what's amount of torque have you used?

There's probably a # but I go with what feels right. I haven't torqued anything after changing all those fluids & filters and I've had no issues. Torque wrenches are for city boys. :)

Torque wrenches are for real technicians, whether they are city boys or country folks ;)

Two clips from the workshop manual for the E70 diesel. Looks like 60 Nm for the BMW OE plug.
