Continental ExtremeContact DW & DWS

I put the DWS on my 2011 SAV with the staggered 20's late last year. Put over 10,000 miles on them so far. They are much quieter than the old tires, and are wearing well. I need the all-season capabilities because I live near Lake Tahoe. They worked well in the light snow conditions I've driven in. I would buy them again when it's time to replace.

I live in the NYC area where it seems like none of our taxes go to repairing the roads, potholes and rough roads everywhere. I'm looking to to switch from the Conti RFT's to the DWS's, should I be overly worried about the soft sidewall of the DWS's and bending a rim. Had the RFT's on for 2 years, hit plenty of potholes and never bent a rim....Knock on wood

I think they will be fine.

Conti DWS

I don't know about how the DWS fares with potholes, compared to your RFT's. No doubt the sidewalls are softer, so you'll feel some difference in handling. The only RFT's I have had were on a 2006 Z4 I leased for 2 years. They were not my favorite tires, but I wasn't going to change them out on a leased car. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
