Replaced the Radiator

What an easy job. Took about 2.5hours of labor. Went from the 5 hole to the 4 hole revised Behr radiator. It only took 3 trips to the dealership . The Radiator and revised bypass hose were purchased @ Partsgeek.

Things to know:

Regardless of how lovely your old hoses look, just replace them.

Get the revised lower hose with the bypass for the lower left side of the engine.

When replacing the top hose, the new part omits a return to the expansion tank and you are left needing a hose from the expansion tank to the top right of the radiator. Saving 75 bucks and a 3 day shipping delay, I just plugged the existing hose. When replacing the top hose, a lot of coolant is going to drain from the hose in the firewall...don't freak out when you don't get any heat initially....a quick spin around the block solved this.

Be careful removing the fan shroud. Required removal of the cross support and the top radiator hose makes this a lot easier. There are little flaps on the shroud, they break easily. :banghead:

I had to add coolant several times while the air worked its way out of the system....when I replaced the top right hose most of the coolant flowed out of the line going into the firewall.

I would post pictures as I documented this job thoroughly, I cant get it to work. :thumbdown

Any q's just ask but it was a fairly straightforward and easy job. Drinking a couple beers helps this process along and asking your husband to kindly stop interrupting every 11 minutes as well.
