Oh on your guys 2011/12. Do you guys have a thermostat gauge ? If so how does it show up. How would you know if tstat is going bad or worste case overheating ( happened twice on my E53... Yes ptsd ) lol. Thanks guys for ur time.

No temperature gauge/meter unfortunately. There is the "secret" menu. I use a ScanGuage II connected to the OBD2 port full time to display water temperature along with a few other parameters.

wow seriously...that's so bizarre.(to me) i mean our X are so sensitive to over heating etc... has anyone or know of anyone that the missing gauge led to catostrophic failure such as overheating.or the like.

Just went for a test drive 2011 sport 60k and oh my goodness. CEL Engine temperature and engine overheated memo came on. We basically crawled back to service dept. SA said electronic water pump malfunction/went bad. Is this a sign to pass.? Not CPO and only maintenance pkg
It is getting repaired right now.

not to hijack but is there a definitive 'issues to watch out for' thread for the e70. I am looking to make the jump from e53 myself.

I would also like to know if there is such a thread. It would so helpful in if there are the same leaks etc etc issue like In our E53. I came across one thread I think called "if you can go back w/ E70 35d, would you have done something different " or something of the like. Test drove a 2011 sport E70 35d today at Carmax and it does feel great. More torque and power off the pedals.

I just posted in a new thread. Hopefully I won't get flamed too badly.
