Detailer screwed up rear hatch
 

So my detail guy let my battery die and then used the emergency exit on the rear hatch and now my auto gate won't shut or open it just clicks so i took the arms off and i got them to retract every now and then. Is there any type of reset for this? I've reset the battery ect

anyone?

Have you tried slamming the gate shut?

This exact thing happened to me. Unfortunately whether coincidence or not the car had logged errors with the rear hatch prior to the detail incident.

The fix was a replacement rear hitch motor. Bad news was ... Expensive. Part + installation was around $1000 if I recall.
