Interior question

May be a stupid question but is there a way to positively identify the interior color?

Google BMW vin decoder

Edit: actually, not sure that will do it after all. Take a pic someone will tell you.

bimmer.work : VIN Decoder for BMW

You need the last 7 digits of your car's VIN #

If you have BMW diagnostic PA soft 1.4.0, it actually tells you every detail of the vehicle it is plugged in to.

There's only what, black, tan and tobacco? Shouldn't be hard.

Thought there is oyster too. Also I've noticed on some interiors some have a black back rest and the seat may be beige on the front row seats and door cards are also dual color v/s some I see are all 1 color is that an option?

While the pattern may change with the interior color, all styles of that color should be the same. Also, this might have changed with year. If it was a build option, it was NOT 'orderable'.

For example I once rejected a 2009 X5d that was beige with beige carpets. The 2010 in Saddle had black carpets

So all oysters may have black backs and dual color door cards; but all tobaccos might have matching backs and single color cards.

I mean I don't know very much about interior color names, but this 'tobacco' is actually called saddle brown is it not? Or saddlebraun as it may be.

Two different colors. Saddle is a lighter/redder brown. Tobacco is chocolate/dark.

Also the saddle color changed from 2010 to 2012 as I recall....my 2010 saddle was lighter, 2012 it got more of a red and darker.

As i recall...
