Question re heated seats
My 2009 built, 2010 registered UK spec E70 35d with CIC has an option to change the heated seat heat distribution between the seat squab and the seat back.
I was in my friends 2007/8 E70 yesterday and he commented that his seats had only ever had heated squabs and no heating to the seat back. His car has CCC and I dived into the settings to adjust it for him but the setting wasn't there. I later down loaded the user manual and it shows the setting should be there! Now I know manuals show options that may not be fitted to an individual vehicle but I really cant remember EVER having a car with heated seats that only heated the squab of the seat and not the back. Can anyone confirm this either way please? |

my e30 325iX had 1 seat that only heated the "squab" as you call it but not the back, but that was because it was broken. All my Bimmers e30-e36-e46-e39s-e70 always heat both spots so I'm pretty sure your friends' car has a broken part or loose connection or ripped wiring or something that is causing the malfunction |
Thank you and I would have thought the same but can't understand why the setting isn't in his CCC

Squab = seat base if I have confused anyone BTW

But its shown in the CCC E70 manual? I can't believe that both squab heaters failed from new ?

I miss that feature from my E60 530. I liked adjusting the distribution on the seats. I wonder if this could be coded?

AFAIK the Cold Weather package will make it whether you have the ability to control the squab/seatback heat settings. No Cold Weather package and it just heats up both.

If you are right and its not meant to be in idrive I wonder if there is one fuse that controls the seat backs only ? I'll have a dig about. |
I have the cold weather package and I don't have this setting option.
