Climate control issue

2011 35d, regardless if the system is in manual or auto mode, the fan only runs at a lower speed which will not increase. Sometimes after I drive 10 minutes or so, it works normally. If I put the system in defrost , the fans go on high and seems to work normally (every time).

I have no codes (Carly App) and all looks Ok. Any Ideas?

your fan control resistor could be going bad.

Yep, agree with Greg, sounds like the FSR is bad. Common failure, Google is your friend.

Uh, the fan works just fine when in defrost. All speeds.

don't wanna side track the thread but thought i'd ask a quick question..
anyone ever have it where they press the climate control buttons and their radio station tabs shows across the bottom of the screen??

Update: I was also getting the "increased battery discharge" message. I figured out it was one of the Comfort access door handles (it had been acting wonky for a few weeks). I disconnected the handle from the system and it took 2 or 3 days before I stopped getting the message. An interesting side affect was the A/C blower would run at reduced speed until the battery/charging system reached a certain threshold (I assume). It would run on high only in defrost.

All works great, CA, A/C etc.

FWIW, the BMWhat app showed no codes at anytime and charging voltage was anywhere from 13.1 -14.6v.
