Always-On Angel Eyes
Is there a wiring harness or DIY for making the angel eyes always on? Some of the new F-series BMWs seem to have the angel eye halos on all the time, with no other lights on. I think it looks really good during the day.
Effectively the angel eye halos would be your DRLs, and remain on once the headlights come on. Does this make sense? Edit: For reference, I have a 2007 4.8i E70. |
Mine do :)
If you have pre lci, its just coding. If you have LCI, its removing a wire from the harness to the headlights. |

i have a 2008 and mine are always on. well, headlights are set to auto but the halos light up as soon as the ignition is on. no coding required.

I have a 2009 and it's a selectable option in the idrive menu.

Thanks guys, I will give the iDrive settings another look.

My 2012 LCI has the angel eyes always on (only the rings, nothing else). Not sure if this is the way I bought it or if it's something I changed using the Carly adapter. I changed so many things on my car, it would be almost impossible to tell what was ON or OFF by default.
One thing I know for sure, I changed the light intensity of the rings to maximum from the software. You have a few options from low to medium to high intensity, and a few extra options in between. |
My X5 is 2007 also and the halos are always on- no coding.
