No AM radio reception

All of a sudden after having the rear glass replaced I have zero AM radio reception. Any ideas? FM is fine.

BMW glass or Safelite (other non-OEM)? I don't know what difference it would make, but just a question of curiosity.

OEM. I actually considered trying to save money and go aftermarket but everyone I contacted me told me only OEM was available. It came right from the dealer.

I don't know where the antenna is locate on this car, but on a lot of the cars it's in the C pillar. I wonder if it's in the D pillar on the SUVs... There was also a little bit of body work done to the tailgate as part of this same repair so I guess it's possible they removed some trim and disturbed something. Anyone know where the antenna is located?

Well, the dealer should have a warranty on their work and the new part, I would start there. I am still learning the vehicle myself, so I'm not sure where the antenna is. I had my glass replaced not too long ago and all is well.

Dealer didn't install, body shop did, but I will be going back. I just want to check the basics and try to be armed with some facts (like perhaps that the antenna is right where they were working) before I go.

That's exactly what I needed, thanks! They had to remove the spoiler to put the window in and per that doc, that is where the AM antenna is located.

To the extent anybody needs this in future...the body shop/glass installer definitely forgot to reconnect one of the antenna connectors in the roof spoiler. I didn't even try to find it (which is unusual for me), just took it back over there and they fixed it in 20 minutes.

My X5 hasn't had FM reception since I've bought it. AM is fine. I just listen to CDs but would like to fix the problem. Any ideas from what you've learned with your situation?

Yes there are connectors to both the rear windshield and another FM antenna in the top of the tailgate. I bet one is disconnected for some reason (like windshield replacement). Check out the diagrams smassy post above and inspect.
