Pulling inside door handle 3 times
 

Hello all.

I've searched the different forums but I havent found a post about this problem.

On the driver's door, is it normal that I have to pull the inside door handle 3 times to open the door?

1st pull unlocks the door (pin goes up)

2nd pull does nothing

3rd pull opens the door

No.

First pull if the lock pin pops up, the door is unlocked and can be opened from either the inside or outside handle with a single pull.

Something is wrong, likely the door lock assembly unless something has come loose or is somehow out of adjustment.

Yes, something is definitely wrong.
Now, it just unlocks but wont open the door.
What I do find strange is that the problem is occassionally.

Sounding like the door lock assembly, might email Scott at www.bmwgm5.com for his opinion. Not sure he deals with the e70 like he deals with the earlier models.

Getting the panel out this weekend and see what the problem is.
