E70 3.5 oil level indicator

On my 2013 3.5 the oil level was showing 1/2 level on the green indicator bar. I added 1/2 quart and the bar has not budged. Has anyone had a similar experience? I'm wondering if I should add another 1/2 quart. As an aside is the range between MAX and MIN a quart? I couldn't find this information in the manual or the forum.:dunno:

On my 35d,I have to drive for about 20 miles at operating temperature to see a change in the oil level. Fortunately, the engine also has an actual dipstick so I don't have to wait.

Whenever the low oil light comes on I add a quart. It goes from minimum to full. My SA has advised us that in any N52/N54/N55 engine, when the low oil light comes on there is still a significant amount of oil in the engine and its not nearly as alarming as the car leads you to believe. I still am not one to poke the bear, but just an FYI.

Thanks, I figured that out after about 20 miles. After that time the level bar reached MAX. The 3.5 doesn't have a dipstick!

Yeah, the delay is unnerving. When I change my oil, I know it's low because I only add about 6.5 Liters at first and yet the oil monitor happily sits at the full mark.

The last time I waited until the level changed on the monitor before I topped off and that's how I found that it takes about 20 miles to change.
