X5 gets a little brother
|
Nice color!!!
|
Congrats on the "baby" lol
|
The Countryman S All4 is gone. I like the LED lights on the X1, very even and bright, they definitely seem brighter than my HID. The HUD now shows phone contacts, songs, turn signals speed limit info etc.
Need to get an ethernet cable and e-sys and let the coding begin  |

2016 or 2017?
Options and stuff? ... On the our short list for replacing the CEO's 6 yr old Hyundai Tucson, but I find the BMW NA build site is rife with packages of 'stuff', slightly confusing, and the stuff gets pricey very quickly. Titz blue, by the way, but the Boss likes white... GL, mD |
MY '17. Options are ZCH - MSport Package | ZCC - Premium Package Enhanced | ZCD - Executive Package
You can get away with not getting MSport, and Executive, most of the tech toys are in the premium package enhanced. I think the packages are similar with the US, but the car is cheaper in Canada. |
The new generation X1 is a lot more sporty looking than the initial "shoe-shape" that came out. I like it a lot. Does it feel a lot smaller on the inside? Is it a lot less luxurious? Something had to give...
On the flipside, does the weight difference show? Is it a lot more nimble? |
Really sharp looking X1, congrats.

Its actually more space. The non sport seats suck, but the sport seats have lumbar, adjustable thigh support, and adjustable bolsters. The thing I miss from my comfort seats is the adjustable shoulder support. The tech is all the updated iDrive with connected, HUD, speed limit info etc.
We are still observing the 1200 mile (2k km) break in, but it scoots pretty good in sport mode, and the paddles with the 8 speed tranny mean you keep busy. What gave was the engine is now mounted transversely instead of longitudinally :yikes:, as this shares a platform with the Mini Clubman instead of the 3 series. |
blue dragon,
Thank you for your build info/pkgs... I will give it a long look when my CEO is up for her new car replacement, this winter or next spring. I get the BMW brand/image/stuff, and I like the redone X1, but that category size-wise has some considerable competition for a lot less dough. But, it is on the Medium Length List. GL, mD |

What exactly made you switch from the Countryman? The Countryman was on my short list for my future CEO, but after seeing the new X1, that's becoming a good alternative. |
The F60 countryman hasn't been released yet. The R60 countryman we had for 4 years, it was just a little too small with my kids growing up, and for the weekend trips to the cottage (2 hours away).

Great color. My wife and I looked at one just like it this evening. Now she wants to sell the Diesel and buy one of these!

Its not a bad replacement for a 35D if you don't need the additional space or towing capacity.
