Rear passenger vents

If it matters, I don't have rear-climate control. My kid kicked off one of the tabs in the vents and the 2 parts don't seem to be broken, but I cannot get leverage behind the vent to snap it back together unless I can get my hands behind the vent, which mean taking it apart a bit. There's the top black trim and the vent trim itself. Does anyone know how these come out? I tried a pry tool on the top part and it's loose enough that it wiggles, but I cannot see how/where it is attached. I've seen videos on other models but not one that looks similar to this 2-piece black trim design.

I have a similar problem. Most of my front tabs are broken off. Just sitting there not controlling the direction of the vents. I have to use a pen to move them. New vents cost way too much ($700+) so I'm waiting for a fleabay one to show up with a good price.

Luckily for you there's a quick solution since it's the fronts. These don't work for the rears.

My engineering brain fixed one of the rear vents that came apart after I first got the car, but it has since come off again and I dread doing the job one more time! If I recall correctly, I drill a small hole in one of the pieces and used a pair of snap ring pliers to engage the hole and pull forward to snap the assembly back into place.

Same thing on mine, same side. I was going to pull it apart and glue is back in as it came off when I was cleaning the car. I have the rear entertainment system and climate control so I'm assuming it is going to be 7x more involved then it needs to be.

Can't beat that price. Got two on the way from venttabs.

Tried an angled hex key to try and pull from the back side - still not enough leverage (or hands). Still need to know how to take this thing apart.

Folks,

I ordered 2 replacement tabs from venttabs.com. I cannot tell you how much I recommend you just replace all of them with these. They are MUCH higher quality than the tupperware plastic that the factory provides, and the fit and function are perfect.

Less than $10 each. First picture is original, 2nd picture is replacement.

(Yeah, I know my phone pics suck)
