no, they're actual cracks. eventually there'll be chunks missing. right now it's too dark and i'm too lazy to go take a picture of it. seen it on many others around here. the lens will need to be replaced at some stage. i'm just not sure whether or not i can be bothered fixing it. it won't buff out tho.

These are just the halos, not headlights, if your headlights are showing signs of cracking, that's usually not fixable and requires either a completely new assembly or hoping you can find someone with a good 3D printer than can make you a lens.

We're going through a custom project right now for Corvette customers who have similar cracking but they have removable lenses, so it's easier to do there. X5 headlights do not bake off the lenses, you have to cut them off then do a lot of clean up to put new ones on if you can even find them.

If on the X5 it's a common issue, we can start a project for that, but the cost will be about $800-900 for a pair of lenses due to the lower volume.

Had some trouble following due to the numerous comments. I have been looking to do a headlight upgrade on my e70 X5. Is this special strictly for the led "halos", and we would have to self install?

THanks!

My apologies for causing you difficulty, It just Irk's me a bit when a vendor posts inaccurate info that is easily found online in a seeming attempt to increase profits. Myself and many others have had too many bad experiences with Umnitza to think very highly of them. Have fun with your color changing headlights!
