DISA valve- what is normal?
So I took the DISA valve (driver side intake) off of my 2009 3.0i and it was
1. Covered in oil 2. Not moving - it was stuck in the open position My old E53 DISA valve moved freely under spring tension -until it didn't an just flopped around, which is when I replaced it. Is this one supposed to do the same, or is movement commanded by the computer? The oil also bothers me. I know I need to fix the oil filter adapter leak and will get the gaskets at the dealer this week, but I would think that would not be related to oil in the intake. That sounds like a CCV problem. Why oh why can't BMW fix thing they MUST know are problems. This is the same sh$t as on my 2002 E53. |
And the problem with the CCV system with the N52 is that it's build into the valve cover and not a serviceable item. There is a company that makes a kit to replace it but I'm not sure I'm sold on how you go about replacing it. I believe it's Drvanos or something.
Correction, this company sells the kit - https://vanos-bmw.com/valve-cover-n5...FdRyfgodsicFMQ |
