Coding near Indianapolis
 

Hey everyone! Joined awhile ago, my wife just got a new to us 2012 35d, Was wondering if anyone has coding capability near Indy? I considered getting a carly to handle most of what I was wanting to do, but they tell me they are not able to disable the easy exit steering wheel. We will likely keep this vehicle for quite some time, and am trying to address issues that will help with longevity, I don't deem it necessary for the steering wheel to move everytime I enter or exit the vehicle

Just my $.02 The Steering Wheel moving out of the way will help easing wear on the drivers side seat bolster vs it staying fixed in one spot. I've noticed this difference in my last 2 X5's. My 2008 Premium Package had Power Tilt wheel coupled with running boards. The lower bolster looked new with 155K on the clock. My new one 2010 non Premium 80K has a manual tilt wheel without running boards. I will be replacing the driver seat this spring and adding running boards because of the excessive wear that I can deduce is from the entry/exit style due to the lack of these options.

Regardless of coding, you will need Carly and Gen2 adapter for future issues and diagnosis so just go ahead and get it. Ability to easily code other functions pays for the app itself real quick. You will use it to monitor regens, the coolant temp and few other important parameters.

About the steering wheel... mine stops doing that after some time, not sure when it stops or why but it does and i dont even notice it. Once i do notice, if i move the steering wheel with the joystick, it goes back to doing the moving thing, which i actually like.

Well never considered that, that's a good point, ever have any issues with the electronic mechanism? Not sure what one costs to replace or the difficulty but figured it would be better to disable it and try to be careful getting in and out
