X5 under hood cowl gasket mounting question
2 Attachment(s)
Good afternoon, the first photo shows the cowl gasket I removed , it was only attached by the ends, there was no apparent support in the middle to keep it flush to the hood when closed. There are two screws that go through the gasket bracket that don't seem to have a place to insert in the partition, which is the second picture. Am I missing something? There has to be a place where the gasket bracket fastens to keep it flush with the hood? I have checked REALOEM and can't find the part anywhere. Thanks!

Just realized that the two middle plastic fasteners on the cabin filter cover have nothing to attach to. There must be something missing from my center partition, but I can't see it on the part in REALOEM.

Those panels are completely broken and you need to replace them all. see my video below:

Looks like you might be local to me. I relocated to San Antonio just a few months ago. If you ever need a reset of your service intervals or looking to do some coding, let me know. I just coded a few options myself. |

The engine partition craps out on every e70 I've seen. I've replaced it on both my x5s. Easy to do. Sometimes a 4th piece dies, which is under these.
The plastic is of extremely crappy quality, it falls a part in your hands, |

they are exactly the same except the left and right pieces do not come with the foam gasket so you have to reuse the ones from your OEM part. I figured there is no mystery to it just a plastic mold and since the OEM already tends to break, there is nothing to be lost trying an after market part. |
