TPM Warning Screen -- iDrive -- Stuck

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all:

I just had the tires changed on my 2008 X5 3.0. Non run flats. I am trying to reset the TPM via the iDrive and for some reason, I get the warning screen (see below) which locks me out of the iDrive system -- the controller and menu button stop working. I reset the system a couple times and was able on both occasions to get to the screen where you select YES or NO (default is NO), just as I am about to turn the dial to YES the warning screen comes up and then I cannot do anything. Anyone experienced this issue before and have a solution?

Controller dead. Or CCC dead.
My guess is controller

One or more of the in the wheel sensors are not functioning, find one of the diagnosis computers and search for failure. Tire store may have done you in.

Tire stores should have the hardware to troubleshoot the TPMs....

Hi all -- thanks for the replys. When the screen was working, it seemed like all the TPM sensors were green (active and working or at least communicating). I did three restarts of the system in succession and noticed that the controller was able to move from the warning screen to the return arrow above! Forward push of the controller.

So for some lucky reason I was able to get out of the "freeze" and then able to follow the procedure for resetting the TPM (see posts on this procedure).

Now everything is back to normal. Happy days!

Lucky you!
