Why is one CCC so much slower than another??
I realize these old things aren't great, but I just bought an e60 550 with way more miles than my e70 and in rougher shape, and the CCC is far more responsive in that car. It's the same year, but given miles on it has seen far more hours of operation. I've done all the resets and everything to the X5. Software was updated at dealer not too long ago. Any thoughts? As much as I'd like to upgrade it's just not worth the cost considering how long I'll keep this thing.

same equipment? more devices like hd tuner, connected drives, components etc will slow down start up.

When the CCC starts to get slow, it's often a sign that either your battery is low, or your alternator is not putting out enough voltage. I'd have both checked. If the car's battery is more than 2 years old, it would certainly be suspect.

In my Last E70 and E60 I bought the Updated DVD and it made a pretty decent improvement on the speed of the units. They are Cheap enough. I think I may have the newest DVD from when I Totaled the 08 sitting around somewhere.

Charging battery once a week? geez...what do you guys have as batteries- cell phone batteries??
If you're keeping the car for a few more years, consider the AM Android unit from Avin USA or Yokotron. $500 well worth it... |
It's an OEM battery, but I often leave the key inside the car or leave doors open or the radio on. And I drive a lot of short trips. Constant state of charge is important to battery life. Takes all of 15 seconds to raise the good and clip the charger on. I don't see it as a hassle.
Link me to this Android if you don't mind? I feel like I've seen that before but did a search just now and didn't find what I thought was the same product, at least not for e70. |
