2009 X5 E70 3.0 SD

Looking for any advice as I have come to a dead end. Recently had my DPF cleaned as it was clogged. All fine except that it has been about 3 months now and I am still getting a lot of diesel soot around my bumper bar and the exhaust. Even after washing the soot is still there and I am having to polish it off after every wash. Also if I accelerate hard I get a large amount of black diesel smoke. Now I have had this car for 5 years now and it has never done this before. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

The first thing is to figure out why it is putting unburned fuel in the exhaust. No codes?

Could be a faulty injector, sensor, thermostat, etc. You didn't give us much to go on.

Yes apologies. Only fault codes I am getting is on glow plug 3 and 6. No other faults. My next step is to check the EGR valve.

Ok. Search for how to access hidden menu. Then check the operating temperature.

Read this thread carefully.

Check the regen status, when did it run last time?

So I have replaced the EGR thermostat and also cleaned out the egr valve. It has been a week and the door around the exhaust and rear of car is still the same. Not sure where to go from here.

Did you follow this prior advice and report the findings???

Ok so r placed the main thermostat as the old one was not letting engine get above 70 degrees. Now engine is getting to 90 degrees. Still blowing excessive smoke on acceleration. Only faults showing now is 3 glow plugs which I have yet to replace. The exhaust on the right hand side seems to be much worse than the left for some reason. This is driving me insane. Any help appreciated.
