Scangauge 2 Install ideas

Hey guys, a few weeks after buying my new to me X5, I decided to try out my late brothers scangauge 2 and monitor the water temp and a few other parameters.

I gotta say, aside from the slight color differences, this little thing is awesome.

So, my question is this. Any ever make a permanent install of this piece, and if so where did you put it? I am going to dive in tomorrow and see where it can go, and how feasible it will be for a permanent home in the car.

Little things I noticed in the 10 mile drive I took with it tonight:

-My speedo is off by 3 mph. Car said 60, gauge said 57
-The warm up time was longer than expected, however it is 28 degrees outside. Took a good 10 minutes of mixed driving to reach 210 from 98 at the beginning.
-The voltage gauge is nice. Sitting steady at 14.5 the entire time, with fogs, heated seat and radio on

I'm sure there are other things I can look at, and will probably set it up as a boost gauge as well (MAP reading) but just looking for a clean, driver oriented installation. I figured someone here had to install this in their X at some point.

I'm thinking about getting this mainly as a coolant temp gauge. Do you know what kind of warning the car gives if the coolant temp is too high? and at what temp triggers the warning? Also can the scangauge be programmed to provide a warning on certain readings?

I really don't know what warnings the car give, and as far as I read, the scan gauge will not warn you.

I hooked it up and was delighted to see the temp there. I just wanna better install other than it laying in the ashtray with he wiring over the steering wheel.
